Cut-Offs, Qualifying Marks & Insights:

  • Although the official cut-off will be released along with the final result, several reliable sources have projected the expected range for each category:

CATEGORY

EXPECTED CUT-OFF MARKS

General

125-135

OBC(NCL)

120-130

SC

104-110

ST

92-100

PWD

80-90

The cut-off is influenced by factors such as paper difficulty, candidate performance, and the number of total vacancies. Compared to previous years, the cut-offs have either remained stable or risen, especially for the General and OBC categories, indicating a moderately tough paper and strong competition.

A few observations:

  • The ratio of candidates who qualified vs those who appeared is small (≈ 1.65%). This underscores how competitive the exam was.
  • The large gap between number of applicants and number of actual examinees (and even larger gap to qualified candidates) emphasizes the challenging nature of the exam.

What Next: Main Examination:

 For those who have qualified:

  • The Mains Examination schedule is not yet announced. Keep watching the UPPSC website for notifications.
  • Start preparing strongly, as Mains will be more descriptive and demanding. The pattern generally includes Hindi drafting/essay, General Studies etc.
  • Also ensure all documents, certificates and eligibility proofs are ready as there may be document verification in subsequent stages.

Important Tips for Candidates:

  • Always use the official UPPSC site for updates — avoid depending solely on third-party sites.
  • Once the result is out, download and save a copy of your qualified status proof (the PDF) for future reference.
  • Analyze past cut-off trends to estimate what you might need in the Mains. This will help in setting realistic targets.
  • If there are any errors (roll-number missing though eligible, errors in name, category etc.), raise them immediately via the UPPSC grievance channel.
  • Make sure to keep your OTR (One Time Registration) data upto-date, as many notices/admit cards etc are tied to it.

The announcement of the UPPSC RO/ARO Prelims 2025 results is a significant milestone for thousands of candidates. As the journey moves to the Mains, consistent practice, informed strategy, and a positive outlook are key for success in one of UP’s most coveted competitive exams.
